Along with the iPhone 4 issues there are some more complaints which are gaining voice from last few weeks. And its related to iPhone 3G, apparently the iPhone 3G becomes slow, looses battery fast and also becomes excessively hot with usage if you install iOS4 on it.

With so many customers raising concerns, Apple is saying that they will look into the matter. Few people are also saying that this was supposed to happen, so that people are “forced” to buy the new iPhone 4. Its all in Apple Discussion Forum thread. Conspiracy or No Conspiracy, if Apple says people can install iOS4 and enjoy it(minus few functionalities) on iPhone 3G, than it should work as expected.
Apple has just released a statement that they will not be releasing the white iPhone 4 till the end of this year.
CUPERTINO, Calif., July 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.
This doesn’t comes as surprise after Apple already battling the iPhone 4 issues, they surely don’t want to get some more angry customers. But the blogosphere is buzzing around with rumours that Apple is actually working towards correcting the whole antenna issue in white iPhone 4 as it requires a hardware modification. Works for everyone, although I would dig black iPhone 4 anyday than a white one.
The Apple conference about the whole iPhone 4 issues is over and I would say, it would be the day Apple wants to forget. It was chaos, Apple never came out and accepted openly that yeah there is something wrong with the iPhone 4 except from saying “We are not perfect, Smartphone’s are not perfect“.
First, they tried to show that “antenna death grip” is a usual phenomenon and showed couple of other phone’s(Blackberry, Samsung, HTC etc) which also seem to be suffering from the same. It was a childish move which attracted again bad vibes from all around the smartphone industry(RIM, HTC & Samsung did come out with their own statements refuting Apple claims). It was saying like its just not our product which is bad but their are others also in the party. Indulging other phone’s into this completely unnecessary step, last time I checked Apple iPhone was trying to be a step above from all the other phone’s in market.
Apple is even having a dedicated page of Antenna issue, where they compare iPhone 4 & iPhone 3GS with other phones.

Not impressed and still don’t understand the need to throw mud at other phones.
Second, Apple declared that they will offering free bumpers to everyone and also returning money to those who already bought one. Don’t want to comment on this, why would any company want to make it necessary to have a bumper on phone, so that calls won’t drop. I don’t like a bit, the iPhone 4 looks uber cool, the bumper is just doesn’t really complement it. But that’s the only solution to avoid the antenna issue.

Third, Apple did accept the proximity sensor issue and said to working towards it. I am not sure whether its purely a software issue or some change from hardware is also required. But Apple said they will be releasing the update for fix some time soon and they are working very hard towards correcting it.
You can watch the whole conference here. In the end just want to say iPhone 4 was one of the most advanced iPhone till date, truly remarkable and but Apple blew it. I still love it though but if it can’t handle the simple calls and drops them if I hold it normally, that’s just sad. But I must clear the air that I still have to actually own one and see the death grip issue personally. iPhone 4 is supposed to be launched in India around September with Airtel & Vodafone with a price range of around 35k-45k, based on the model you will be buying.
After taking enough of backlash and criticism mostly for the iPhone 4 antenna fiasco, Apple has gone into the damage control mode. They are holding a “iPhone 4″ press conference tomorrow to let world know what happened and what are they doing to counter it(I hope). There are multiple reports/rumours of iPhone 4 recalls for fixes, pretty sure Apple will be clearing air on this. Will be updating on what unfolds tomorrow.
Apple will be having iPhone OS event on 8th April show the next generation of iPhone software. Some iPhone HD or iPhone 4G news in the pipeline. Lets see .
