Multitouch for G1 is been worked for quite a long time which we covered here and here.

Google Latitude is a google maps tool which allows you to track your friends in real time. And it was released for G1 in recent firmware update.

And rumors are been flying around that it will soon be coming to iPhone. We will update you as soon it comes out for iPhone.

After long month of speculation and various attempts finally a decent stable hack for bringing multitouch to google phone aka G1 is out.


Since its in early stage Multitouch might not appear as smooth as on iPhone, but its a great step towards bringing seamless multitouch to G1.

This news created a good amount of buzz last week, when a coder named “Sir Luke Hutch” played with the code and came up with a multitouch for the G1.

He also recorded a video showing all the multitouch glory on G1.

I really wonder if it mulitouch on G1 was possible all the way why it was not enabled in the first place, may be like Apple gave a camera on iPhone but forgot to add video recording capability :-D

Here is video which shows cupcake’s on-screen keyboard for G1, and it looks amazing to say the least. But G1 users will have to wait a little for getting their hands on the improved keyboard. There is still no mention of date when it will be released for masses.
