Gizmodo has found a rather unusual security flaw in iPhone3g which can compromise your vital information stored in iPhone. And the main thing is, it won’t require a huge time or effort for someone to hack into your iPhone.
Here is how it can be done:
When you lock your iPhone, you can still make emergency call without unlocking it, so when the phone number entry screen comes up, double tap the home-button twice and to your surprise, it will bring up your favourites. And from there anyone will have full access to your cellphone private information in Mail, SMS, Contacts, and even Safari.
Well that’s it, its as simple as that to take away your info from iPhone. Good news is that, Apple is working on a fix to handle this in the mean time you can also take some steps given by Gizmodo to avoid happening it to you.
1. In the iPhone home, go to Settings.
2. Click on General.
3. Click on Home Button.
4. Click on either “Home” or “iPod”.This way, the double-click on the home button will take the user back to the unlock screen (if you use “Home”) or the iPod screen. I recommend using Home. You will lose the ability to quickly access your favorites for a quick call—which is one of my favorite features—but that’s better than having all your private mails, contacts, and SMS database compromised.
