Linux Ported On iPhone,iPod Touch – G1 In Waiting

This was bound to happen, Linux is finally ported to iPhone and iPod Touch by iPhone-Dev Team.

Few Details from the Linux On iPhone Blog

What we have:

- Framebuffer driver
- Serial driver
- Serial over USB driver
- Interrupts, MMU, clock, etc.

What we have in openiboot (but hasn’t been ported yet):

- Read-only support for the NAND

What we don’t have (yet!):

- Write support for the NAND
- Wireless networking
- Touchscreen
- Sound
- Accelerometer
- Baseband support

Although Openiboot is still Missing the touchscreen and accelerometer support, but its a good start, kudos to the iPhone-dev team.
