New York Times sent their ace reporter to Shenzhen China which is “The” place where most of the fake/knockoffs Chinese based mobile phones gets developed.
And the reporter came with the facts that iPhone knockoffs are selling like hot cakes and are pretty popular as they come cheap for around $100-$150, comparing the original iPhone prices which ranges from $400-$600 based on the model and network provide plans/contract.
The report also shows the details that the usual Chinese mobile development cost is only around $40 or so.

Can it run the iPhone OS so it will function just as a normal iPhone? Is it safe to buy? Right now, I am considering buying this sense the price is so low. I just don’t want to buy something that is a piece of junk and is not like an iPhone… but hopefully they are not.
@Alex no they dont run the iPhone OS, the OS inside these iPhone clones are almost the same you find in the cheap chinese phone, they are not so user friendly. So, my advice will be not to think about it at all. Till date only one phone which got near to iPhone on OS+Build basis is Meizu M8(http://en.meizu.com/m/m8.html).
